Supporting drug-free rehabilitation and education
The Drug-Free Alliance is an initiative of the Foundation for
Social Improvement. We seek to enlighten individuals, families and groups on
the true dangers of drug use and to what extent drugs negatively impact our
society. We promote drug-free living and support effective drug education and
rehabilitation practices.
Our country has become inundated with drugs.
It's difficult to read a magazine or turn on the television without seeing and
advertisement for a name-brand drug to treat the latest popular malady. From
restlessness to moods and and upset stomachs to toenail fungus. The idea that
has been ingrained in the minds of millions of Americans to take a pill for
every ill has also opened us up to the nearly endless list of side-effects that
often create even more problems than the initial reason for taking the drug.
When searching for solutions we must ask ourselves if we as individuals
and as a nation are able to look beyond bias and tradition to find and use what
actually works. Results speak for themselves. They are true to the degree they
are demonstrable and observable, not hypothesized.
